In 2008 we embarked on a new and exciting adventure. With Ann’s background in art education,
and Peter’s involvement in collecting vintage art, it was a natural extension of our interests to
consider the idea of opening an art gallery in Fitchburg. We knew we wanted the business to be
located on Main Street and absolutely loved the beautiful Upper Common area. Our vision
materialized when we noticed the perfect little building for sale directly “in the shadow of the
Rollstone Boulder”, thus, the Boulder Art Gallery was born.
For Ann, an art educator and watercolorist, this was a dream come true, to have her own studio
within a gallery. She will be offering original watercolors, giclee prints, and note cards of her
work. Recently retired, she enjoyed 36 years as a Visual Arts instructor at Fitchburg High School.
For Peter, a collector of vintage art, this provided the perfect venue for showcasing his collection.
He will be offering a fine selection of vintage work from listed artists. These works offer not only
an investment one can enjoy, but also have a strong potential for appreciation in value. Peter, a
retired middle school science teacher, enjoyed 35 years in the Shirley School System.
Our mission from the very start has been to promote the work of local and regional artists in a
professional setting, enrich and support the cultural environment of our city, and celebrate the
Fitchburg community. Opening the gallery has been an exciting and rewarding journey. The warm
reception from our community and the many new friends we have made, has helped to make this
endeavor a worthwhile and successful experience.
Thanks to everyone........... we look forward to your visit. Ann and Peter Capodagli
